From task to guide in three steps
Do the task once as you normally would. Pathnote writes the guide while you work.
Open the side panel
On any website, click the Pathnote icon. The side panel opens next to the page.
Record the task
Choose Start recording and work as usual. Each click, entry, and selection becomes a numbered step with a screenshot.
Polish and share
Click Done, then rename steps, add notes, blur sensitive details, and export to Word or PDF.

Is Pathnote free?
Yes. Pathnote is free to install and use. You only need a free account, created with your email address.
Why do I need an account?
Your account lets you sign in to Pathnote. It holds only your email address; your guides and screenshots are not stored in it and never leave your browser.
Where are my guides saved?
In your browser on your own computer. If you remove the extension, its saved guides are removed too, so export anything you want to keep as Word or PDF first.
Which browsers does it work in?
Google Chrome version 116 or newer on Windows, macOS, Linux, and ChromeOS.
Can it record any website?
Most websites, including web apps like Salesforce. Chrome does not allow extensions to record its own settings pages or the Chrome Web Store.
